Work & safety officer
The vital link between students and Uppsala University
A voice for all students
In CHIA, we believe that a blooming student life requires a safe and healthy soil to grow in. That is why our Work and Safety Officer (often called skyddsombud in Swedish) is dedicated to monitoring and improving our students' physical, organizational, and psychosocial study environment.
From ensuring inspiring study spaces to looking after mental well-being, stress levels, and equal treatment, this role acts as the vital link between our members and Uppsala University. While the university carries the formal legal responsibility for the campus environment, our representative ensures that the voices, needs, and concerns of the CHIA community are always heard, acted upon, and never overlooked.

Examples of things you can contact us about

Stress and mental well-being
Unreasonable exam schedules, excessive workloads, or general stress affecting your studies.

Equal treatment and safety

No matter how big or small, if it affects your well-being or study environment, your voice matters to us! Contact the Safety Officer through journal@chia-uppsala.com or visit the Complaint Box for anonymous reports. Nothing is escalated without your consent unless someone is in danger.
