Why you should be a member!
In general, student associations have two main purposes.
One is acting as a union, where the association advocates for your rights as a student, raises your concerns and questions to the university, and is available to help you if you feel you have been discriminated against, graded unfairly, or face an excessive workload in a course. We are also here for you if you have any questions in general.
The other part is creating a social community through orientation (inspark), events, student overalls, etc. CHIA is the student association specifically for our Master's program. So by being a member, you have a union that will back you if anything happens.
Also, membership comes with other benefits. For instance, most of our events are completely free for CHIA members, whereas non-members have to purchase a ticket each time. Membership also gives you a real say in how the association is run. During our General Assemblies, your membership grants you voting rights, allowing you to elect new board members, vote on changes to the statutes, and make key decisions. This means you can directly influence the direction of the association and help bring new ideas to life!
We use Orbi
It is through Orbi that you can get your CHIA membership. It is a one-time fee of 150 SEK (plus 12 SEK for service fee) and lasts for a lifetime. Orbi is also where you buy tickets for CHIA events that have an entry fee.
Become a CHIA member
Five steps
Download the Orbi app from the App Store or Google Play.
Create an account by following their steps. They might ask you specific questions about your education and where you belong within the university. If that is the case, follow these instructions:

Search for CHIA using the search function.
Click "Become a member" and follow the steps to complete your application.
After you have sent in your application, your membership needs to be approved by the CHIA board. Once it is approved, you can pay for the membership.
